About Me
As of 2025, I have assisted or otherwise litigated over 100 appeals throughout all five of Illinois Appellate Districts and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. My boutique practice provides support to small firms and others in need of temporary appellate assistance.
In my free time, I present various lectures at MCLE events and publish a monthly newsletter covering recent appellate decisions.
Some of my more notable appellate victories:
In re Parentage of Ervin C.-R., 2020 IL App (2d) 200236, the first decision applying the use and scope of Illinois’ Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Act.
In re Marriage of Virgin, 2021 IL App (3d) 190650, Illinois (for now) leading case on shared parenting.
In re Marriage of Britton, 2022 IL App (5th) 210065, the first published decision where a dearth of credibility forms a basis for imputing income.
In re Marriage of Gorr, 2024 IL App (3d) 230412, a decision that joined the Court’s previous holding in Trapkus that mandates 603.10(b) analysis when modifying any order (agreed or otherwise) imposing a “restriction-like” component on the parties.
